On the day of Pentecost, Peter, who had previously denied Christ out of fear, stood up with boldness to address the crowd. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, Peter delivered a powerful sermon that marked the beginning of the Church’s mission to spread the Gospel to all nations.

Exegesis and Study

Peter’s transformation from a fearful follower to a bold leader is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit. Quoting the prophet Joel, Peter explained that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was the fulfillment of God’s promise to pour out His Spirit on all people. This marked the beginning of the

Church’s mission to proclaim the Gospel with boldness and authority.

Practical Application

Peter’s boldness in proclaiming the Gospel is an example for all believers. The Holy Spirit empowers us to speak the truth of God’s Word with confidence and courage, even in the face of opposition. We should seek the Spirit’s empowerment to be bold witnesses for Christ, trusting that He will give us the words to speak and the courage to stand firm in our faith.
