Walking by the Spirit, Galatians 5:16-18

Scripture · Galatians 5:16-18

16So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Paul continues by encouraging the Galatians to walk by the Spirit, promising that if they do so, they will not gratify the desires of the flesh. He explains that the desires of the flesh and the Spirit are in conflict with each other, and it is by the Spirit that believers are able to overcome the sinful nature.
